The good thing about running your own business is that you decide yourself. The opposite may be that you have no security and that can prevent many of us from doing it.

When we look into Todays media we can see and read about breakdown of the economy and a lot of other       insecurity. There is really nothing that can encourage us to take the jump into a new life running own business.
I recently read an article by Mr. Paul Krugman – well known journalist at The New York Times. He wrote about our so called special personal quality – which may be what some people call “The X factor”. In his opinion we need to find this and include it in our life to create business success in a global world.

So what is so special about you that only you have got this in the world? And how can you have this skill or knowledge or whatever it is become unleashed in your life and take advantage of it in business?

This is what we teach in Makani Academy as well as in and in a lot of other institutes for personal development. How people can find this special personal potential and bring that into action in your life. There is a reason why you are here and this special skill or knowledge or whatever it is may be the reason.

This does not need to move you into running your own business. However if you feel for it – Now is the right time to do it. Starting a new business when the economy is down can lead to a real success. You need to have the right idea of course and there needs to be a need for you product in the market. There may very well be that if your idea is based on what I call “your true personal potential”.

An obstacle could be a lack of funds. The banks have become extremely careful at the moment. Well then find “a sleeping partner” to support the start of your business. There are people out there with access to billions of dollars, who want to invest in the right idea.

Another obstacle could be; “How do I get out to the market – I am not part of a big organization” Of course not. And it only means that you need a network. Networking may be the future organization for entrepreneurs. Networking give you access to become  a member of a huge organization.

”Nobody can do anything for me”!

I was jogging this morning along the coastline on the island of Zeeland in Denmark. It was a rainy morning and nobody was outside on this January 1^st in 2012. I was passing a parking area when I saw a man in his fifties standing at the beach and drinking a beer. He looked as a very educated and powerful man and at the same time he looked very sad to me. I stopped to wish him happy New Year. He grunted something back. I was standing next to him and decided to see what I could do. So I said; “It does not seem to be a very good morning for you – anything I can do”? He looked at me with very sad tearful eyes and replied; ”Nobody can do anything for me – there is no reason for me to live any more. I have went bankrupt with my business and lost my wife as well”. He took another drink of the beer and continued; “I really just want to lie down and die and get rid of this mess that life is now”. “Well” I said; “If there is really nothing more to do in your life, then I do understand you. And I suppose it means there are no more people you can give a hand. Nothing more your soul needs to experience in this life. Nothing more you need to learn. No more people who can learn from you. No more people you need forgive. No more love you can receive from others”. He looked at me for quite a while, and I could see in his eyes that my remarks have started a process inside his mind. He took my hand and looked firmly into my eyes; “Thank you he said – that was what I needed”. He walked away and I continued my jogging.

What is your New Year promise for 2012? Well if you need an idea the promise could be, “to give others a hand when needed”. The old Ancient Mayan Calendar has come to an end and we are in a transition period now - it is time for all of us to open the heart. One way can be to pay attention to each other and look for others needs. And sometimes a simple remark or question can make all the difference in the world.

Demonstrations Oct 15^th in 951 cities in the world towards greed in the financial sector! Is that just the desperation from some young people or is it the beginning of something else?

Well! If we put it into the framework of the Mayan Calendar we know that we are currently in the seventh day of the ninth wave – which means that the ruling energy works for unity and oneness. So it is no big surprise that some young people create focus on things that obviously seems to be unfair.

So the question is, what can we expect next? And I would say: More of that. Oct. 28^th will be the end day of the old spiritual Mayan Calendar – marking the end of a long development cycle starting with Big Bang more than 16 billion years ago. This may mean that humanity should be able to take responsibility for their own destiny – we should be able to take on the role as co-creators of your own reality.

Is that the case? It is a good question and we don’t know the answer to that. However we can see from the Mayan pyramid that upon the top of the nine steps which marks the Mayan Calendar we find an extra bit to go. There is a top piece more. It is something which we could call a kind of transformation or implementation period. That period is about to start after Oct 28^th. The Calendar says nothing about the length of that period – why not? I guess because it depends on us – humanity - if we are really ready to take responsibility of our own destiny.

So we will probably have a number of years where we still have wars, violence, demonstrations and at the same time a lot of change work towards unity, empathy, love, sharing. The “old ideas” will fight the “new ideas” in order to resist what will be inevitable – “The big shift to a new paradigm or a new consciousness”.

In this transition period I would welcome as many institutes and schools of personal development - teaching people how to create their own life and take responsibility for their own reality. I would say as many as possible throughout the world. I don’t find it important what kind of system they teach people – I do find it important that they teach people: That the world is what we think it is and we are responsible for our own reality ourselves. That will align us with the new paradigm and that will create a new way for us to organize politics, economy, education and how we are to each other. We are nowhere near to that so we are going to see a lot more to those young people opposing “the old way of thinking” We are going to see more violence until the “old way of thinking finally get the message and give in to the new paradigm.

In Makani Academy we are going to intensify our efforts to teach as many people as possible this idea for a better future.

Throughout the world millions of people will today recall the terrorist attack on US 10 years ago. Many words will be said about this and many feelings will come back to people especially those who lost dear relatives on this terrible day.

Personally I remember that I got the news from someone who had been watching ICN. Helene and I were teaching a practitioner training in the capital of Iceland that day. The hotel had a lot of American guests and the only thing they wanted was to go home - the sooner the better. That was impossible that day. The sky above US had been closed down for any airlines.

I can still remember the pictures of the towers being hit and later crash to the ground. They have been shown over and over again since that day and the same will happen today. .

Today I am thinking back and reflecting of where had the time since taken us? There will be numerous opinions about that of course - so I will stick to the spiritual angle based on the ancient Mayan Calendar.

The event took place in the 2^nd day of the Galactic period. The energy in this period (1999-2011) also called the 8^th Wave - has been supporting dualism. Things have easily been opposing each other. This is one of the basic themes for this wave. In other words the ruling energy has supported a high number of wars and disagreements going on throughout the world. On the other hand this has been a good time for developing more effective tools for personal growth and negotiation and we have seen a huge number of new teachings and institutes expanding within the field of personal and spiritual growth.

The energy today is quite different. We are close to the middle (September 13^th-14^th) of the 6^th day in the 9^th and last wave of the Mayan Calendar. This wave is about unity consciousness – for human beings to realize that we are all at one and need to find new values and a way to live from that wisdom. The quality of the 6^th day is called; “birth”, so what are we giving birth to right now? It may be the time to open the heart and find a practical way of living our practical life with an open heart.

It is always easy to talk in abstract about these things. It may become more difficult when we chunk things down into matter. We all need to find our own way to do that. However Helene and I take this opportunity – the birth point – to present our new basic training called; Self-Coaching – The seven steps to living your Self. We do hope that this can support many students to find their way into the new age.
