2011! The last year in history?

February 11^th this year marks the beginning of the last period of the Mayan Calendar according to Mr. C.J. Calleman, the author to “The Mayan Calendar and the Transformation of Consciousness”. The period is called “The Universal Underworld” and it lasts from February 11^th to October 28^th 2011. It is the 9^th and last of the so called “Underworlds” in the Calendar.

I have been studying the Mayan Calendar for some years and find it very interested. It is a spiritual calendar and at the same time it describes the development of the Universe and Humanity. And what really make me interested: It puts historical events into a time frame in such a way that all those old historical events actually make sense and seem to have been inevitable. I don’t know if the calendar is true – however it seems as if so many events take place at predictable times that it can be used to explain the history of mankind and what has taken us to where we are today.

If that is the case it can also help us to understand what is around the corner for us in the time to come.

The Mayan Calendar describes 9 so called “Underworlds” each one ruled by a Divine Force. Each Underworld is responsible for taken the Universe and Mankind forward to the next step of development. Each Underworld has a totally mathematic starting time and they all run until October 28^th 2011 – This year. That is the end date of the calendar – however the calendar also presents a kind of transition period thereafter. Each Underworld is split up in 13 sub-periods called days and nights. There are 7 days and 6 nights. Those days and nights are also ruled by divine forces and some aspects seem to come back every time we have a certain day or night.

The first Underworld started at Big Bang and has been running ever since. It was called the Cellular Underworld and the purpose was of course to create life itself. The next one started a lot later and is called “Mammalian Underworld”. That one was about creation of multi-cellular organisms. And thus have underworlds been started ever since and now we are waiting for the last one to start. It also means that we have 8 periods running parallel at the same time ending October 28^th according to Mr. Callemans interpretation of the calendar.

Each of the days and nights in the first underworld lasted for more than one billion or our years. It actually means that we are in the 7^th and last day for all the first 8 underworlds. That day is about “harvest”.

The 9^th and last underworld starts up in a few days and during those few months until October 28^th we will experience all 13 steps for the last time. I guess this also means that we will experience that life moves faster than ever before during this year. Each step is going to last for 20 of our days only.

The question we could ask is what is going to happen? Will it be the end of the world as some people predicts? Will it lead us to Paradise, as other predicts? Will nothing happen at all? Suggestions are many. Let me tell you what I think. I think you will wake up October 29^th in the morning like you use to do. Does that mean that nothing has changed? Well! Actually each of those underworlds has meant a huge change to the life conditions of humanity. So let us take a look back.

According to the calendar the 6^th Underworld started in 3115 BC. It is called the National Underworld and some of the purposes of that underworld seem to have been to create written language, major religions, science, fine arts, monarchies and nations and a lot more. Each one of the days and nights lasted for 324 of our years. We are in the harvest of that underworld and it seems to me as if the purpose of that underworld has been fulfilled.

The 7^th Underworld started in 1755 and is called the Planetary Underworld. The purpose of this one seem to have been to create democracy, industry, materialism and the understanding of planets. Each one of the days and nights last for about 20 of our years. It seems as if also this underworld more or less has achieved its purpose.

The 8^th Underworld started up in 1999. It is called the Galactic Underworld and the purpose has to do with modern global communication and understanding – information technology, computers, internet etc. Well! We have achieved that as well.

When I look at those periods I can see a major impact on the life conditions for humanity from each underworld. And now we are about to move into the last one and can ask – what will happen? Well we don’t know anything for sure because it also depend a lot of our choices. The last one is called the Universal Underworld and should be about “oneness” or unity – so understanding the Universe must be an important aspect.

My personal guess is that the only way we can really understand the Universe is by connecting to it. The way to do that is by opening to our Divine Self – our personal Spirit. I guess that 2011 and the next couple of years thereafter will show a kind of mass opening for humanity to the personal spirit. And that we will achieve a deep understanding that we are all at one.

I guess that this will make us take responsibility for ourselves, each other and the planet in a new way – and I do see the signs already (green revolution, world wide self development etc.) I also guess that this underworld will break down the last of the selfish, rigid old hierarchies on the planet – and this may not be pleasant to watch or be part of.

So sometime I think about it this way: We have been in High School for a long time and October 28^th 2011 may be our day of graduation. Then I look into the world and see how it is – and it may seem impossible to achieve. So I think back on the previous underworlds and realise how big impact each of them has had on life upon this planet. Then I think well lets go for it!

So the faster you open to your own spirit and receive direct guidance – the faster you have upgraded yourself and moved into the new world.
