A few words from Andy
In 2008 I started a new job and not long afterwards I had an assessment with my manager. I was always interested in NLP and told him that I would like to learn about it (this is a stretch seeing as I work as an Infrastructure Systems Engineer (computers talking to each other …) He seemed interested, then I hit him with the fact that it would be cheaper to do in Cyprus than in Norway (I live in Stavanger). They eventually agreed that I could do this, Whoopee!!!
Well I have to confess! I only wanted to do this course because it was 2 weeks on the beach in Cyprus – PAID FOR!!! I really did not have many intentions on attending many of the sessions seeing as I did not care if I passed – I was on a paid vacation!!!
I arrived a day early as advised and met the folks that were training over the next 2 weeks, there were between 40 and 50 of then all on different courses. What an incredible bunch of people these were! They were all intelligent (thought they were going to be long haired hippy types!!!) well educated and articulate. I was very skeptical about the Enneagram (it was bundled in with the NLP Practitioner course this year) and told a number of the advanced students at the dinner that I was!!!
Not one of them rebuked me for my ignorance, but nearly all said that I would appreciate it more when I learned it properly! WOW appreciate it … it blew me away!!! I was amazed that not all folks saw the world like I did. Then the pennies started dropping, historically, how I had messed up with some folks and my marriage and how to do better in the future! As a tool it has helped me immeasurably over the last 12 months with personal relationships and work! I am even more tolerant now and perfectionists no longer annoy me ;-)
After the first day I was hooked! I was generally one of the first in class and the one with the most questions (and doubt), all handled very skillfully by Chris Grew the trainer that was taking our course that year. The NLP and Enneagram Practitioner training was exceptional, as were my fellow travelers on this odyssey of self discovery. I can’t begin to tell you how much I learned about myself during those 2 weeks but believe me I am a changed man.
It’s impossible to attend these courses and not go home a better person!
I must give a shout here to the Assistants! They were remarkable and whenever there was a need for help they were right on the case … even noticing if you needed it before you did!
Well, as you can imagine I didn’t spend as much time on the beach partying as I intended! I thoroughly enjoyed the course, the content and the extremely high level of tutoring given! In fact, I tell a lie, in reality it was one of the best holidays I ever had. ;-)
I have just returned from the NLP Master With Timeline (2009).
This course I did pay for myself, seeing as with the financial crisis happening around the world the company I work for didn’t think it was appropriate to indulge me. I was glad to pay the fee, I would never of paid my hard earned money over if the previous course hadn’t been so exceptional!
Again, an experience that blew me away, especially the Timeline component of the training!!! I feel exactly the same about this training as the Enneagram / NLP Practitioner training above, so I won’t bore you with the same details ;-)
I would highly recommend the courses that I have been on and look forward to taking Enneagram II and the Trainers Training in the not too distant future (if I am allowed to these after confessing that I only really wanted a free holiday to begin with ;-)
