The Faroe Islands
– May 18th
The aircraft
from Atlantic Air takes off from Copenhagen
on time. It is a very special aircraft –
designed
for the stormy Atlantic Ocean. Four engines
and just 100 seats. We are heading
towards the
Faroe Islands – this small group of islands in the Northern
Atlantic Ocean. Around 48.000 people who share the Queen of
Denmark as head of state, but has own parliament and government.
Once again
I am going back to those special islands to offer individual sessions, a couple of talks
and my “Creating the life you want” seminar. We have a very good weather for
this flight and everything and arrive
according to schedule.
When we
approach the islands I can once again se the amazing sight of the mountains.
They have grass all over – and thousands of sheep grassing around. No trees
just grass. The islands have a lot of rain totally opposite Cyprus where I
live. When we get close to Vagar – only airport on the islands – we pass very
close to the mountains. Landing on the islands is always something very special. You can
always expect sudden winds and this is why we fly this special aircraft. It is
very steady during unexpected winds and manage great to pass through the narrow
passage entering the airport.
The airport
is small and effective and luggage is on the belt very fast. Even a dog
sniffing for hash is ready on arrival. I have a taxi driver waiting for me – a
wonderful service from my sponsor company: Synergi! The airport is upon one
island and the capital: Torshavn
is on another. Until a few years
ago we had a buss taking us to a small harbour and a ferry to take us to the
island with the capital. Arriving there we mounted another buss and kept on for Torshavn.
To day they
have a tunnel connecting the two islands so my taxi just dive into this tunnel and
go on at the other side. It is very easy compared with the old days. Suddenly
we need to stop for a bunch of sheep passing the road. Some people up here
claim that sheep have more rights the than humans.
The nature
is wonderful – really. Low mountains – actually just a few hundred metes above the sea and covered with grass. Small springs all over leading the water down into the
beautiful fjords. A totally breathtaking landscape.
After 45
minutes drive we enter Torshavn
and I leave the taxi to say hello to the manager of my sponsor company – a
woman named Åsa. I am going to stay in a city apartment this time and will see
a handful of clients and give two talks – one at eight o´clock in Torshavn and one at eight
o´clock in Klaksvik – the second largest city. And in the weekend I will do my
seminar.
I know for
sure that this will be a fantastic week!
