Once upon a time there was a …. 16th

Once upon a
time at a place far away in the Universe there was a solar system encircled by
half a score of planets. From time to time this solar system – which was called
Solarious – talked to the other solar systems in the whole galaxy. And very
often the others said, “Come on now, it is time for all of us to move on to our
next level of transformation and we need you to follow.” And every time Solarious
regretfully answered back, “I am so sorry, but one of my planets lacks behind
the others and I need to have it with me as a whole you know. We know” The
other solar systems answered. “Then we all need to wait for that planet before
we can move on. But tell us, what is the situation on that planet? What is the
reason for the lack? Tell us about it and we may be able to come up with
something.” And then Solarious started to tell.
“The slow planet
is called Draconis and is populated with some billions of boings. They are speaking
different languages and because of that, they have organized themselves in such
a way that the boings speaking the same language mostly live in the same area –
which they call: Fields. Each field has its own set of rules about how to
behave and what is forbidden in that particular field”. And then Solarious
lowered the voice and whispered, “and you know “it said, “ The boings in each field actually believe that they own the land”. The
other Solar systems started to laugh loudly when they heard that remark. “Now
we are beginning to understand”, they said.
Solarious continued,
”This idea that you can own a certain bit of land – a bit of Draconis – is very common and has become so common that
many of the boings actually have bought a piece of land and claim that it
belongs to them. And you know” Solarious continued, “Sometimes an “owner” split
this piece up into smaller pieces and sell them to others and later those
smaller pieces can be even more split up and sold to even more boings. This
means that many of the boings living on Draconis believe that they “own” a bit
of her”. The other solar systems started to discuss loudly how the boings on
Draconis could have lost their way so completely. What had made them forget that
everything in the Universe is alive and that everything is connected and
depending on the rest of the Universe.
“You know”
Solarious said, “That is the main problem. For some hundred years ago they got
that peculiar idea that they were alone in the Universe and because of that they
were the most important too!” This time the other solar systems cried out
loudly, “No! That is impossible – everyone knows that the opposite is the
reality. We are all connected as a huge network and we are all depending on
each other”.
“You know”
Solarious continued, “The worst thing is, that for the last hundred of years
they have developed a lot of technology and this is great. This means that they
are getting closer to be ready for their next step. However they have been
using this new technology totally out of balance with the rest of the planet –
they have created an awful unbalance in the climate on Draconis. To day their existence is threatened and their whole process
of development has come to a stop both for them and for the rest of us”. The
other solar systems moaned when they heard this and continued to discuss what
could be done.
One solar
system asked, “How about the leadership on Draconis. Who can do something?” You
know, “Solarious said, “That is another problem. There are actually a lot of
people who have understood the situation and there is a kind of planetary organisation
too. All the fields are member of that organization. But unfortunately some of
the biggest fields are very reluctant to change their behaviour and minimize
the damage they are doing to the planet”.
“So what
will likely happen if they move on along the current road”, one of the other
solar systems asked.
To this Solarious
answered, “The unbalance will increase and the temperature on the planet will
continue going up. Boings from the most heated fields will flee to the cooler
fields to survive and they will start to fight the boings living there already.
The fields have got a long history of wars
and the common thinking on Draconis is very dualistic. So Draconis will
be an even stronger blockage to all of us. You are right,” the others said and
became thoughtful for a while.
Then one of
the oldest solar systems from the opposite end of the galaxy said, “I think I
have got a suggestion. It seems to me that we need to have those boings on Draconis
adopt a new philosophy. That is the only
way for all of us. We need them to understand that they are part of a huge
network and that their behaviour has consequences for the rest of us. We actually
need them to create a galactic consciousness and we need this to become part of
the common teaching on Draconis and we need it to be done now. This will mean
that the boings more easily will be able to elect leaders who even better can
take them in a new and better direction”.
All the solar
systems nodded to that and agreed. And so the solar systems started to make up
a plan for the boings on Draconis to create a galactic consciousness……
