Have we got a global crisis? 9^th February, Stavanger, Jack

I am overlooking the City of Stavanger in Norway from my 10^th floor hotel room. A beautiful view and a beautiful city, too. It has a taste of internationalism – because of the oil industry, which has been here for years. This afternoon I met 75 people attending my talk ”Talking to your Spirit” and it was my pleasure talking to them.

Last week was in Denmark where a small political drama takes place these days. There is a newly founded political party in Denmark called: New Alliance. It has existed for less than a year and was founded with the intention to break up the current pattern with two opposing political blocs. It  became very popular among the Danes and was expected to get a key role in parliament.

However in the recent election it got only 5 seats and two of those have now left the party leaving it back with three seats and no key influence on Danish politics. This takes the political situation “back to business as usual” in two opposing political blocs.

One of the co-founders and chairman has escaped abroad for a holiday and I can imagine how he feels right now where mass media spend a lot of energy blaming him as responsible. I guess this is the crises of his life.

Talking about crises I found another headline to day. According to Standard & Poor´s investors have lost 5.200.000.000.000 US dollars on the stock markets recently. This is really a lot of money I think and yet – I sometimes wonder – does this makes us poorer? Have we lost something of real value? This money does only excist in the digital world. It has value only because the people on the planet accept the current monetary system.

So have we got a global crisis and is it actually a crises concerning the current monetary system?

We have got other global issues as well. We have crises with global warming and the melting of ice at the North and South poles. We have increasing oil prices which makes energy even more expensive. We have obesity among some people and poverty among others.

Sometimes I wonder what is behind those different “crises”!  And my answer is that the basic “crises” on the planet is something else. It has to do with spirituality! I think all too many people have lost contact with the heart and the connectedness to the planet and therefore think that they can do whatever they want without consequence. But I think that we are connected in one huge network and whatever we choose to do make a lot of influence to other peoples life.

I can remember a story from Hawaii. Some people in the construction business wanted to build a new hotel at Big Island. They started to plan for that and some Hawaiians came to them and said:

“This is sacred land and you need permission from the spirits” The answer to this was “nonsense,”

and the construction went on. They got a lot of trouble during the building period and later on the

they had ongoing troubles with the hotel. In the end the owners closed down and the last time I saw the hotel it was closed and most of the glass in the building crushed – a genuine ghost palace. 

You may say “nonsense” to this and still there is a rare coincidence in their refusal to contact the spirits and get permission and their problems later on.

I think that we are entering the time of the spirits right now and that more and more human beings will realize that and find it is their best friend and advisor. All they need to do are to start the conversation.
