The Model of a Successful Businessman
This model has been created by a group of students on a NLP Master in Vilnius this September.
We have created a working model and would recommend it for the attention of others to investigate and to try.
Short description of the process:
1. Identification of the aim:
In our working group we had the Explorer (a non-expert) who expressed his wish to participate in the process of the creating a model of a successful businessman. According to him the criteria for a successful businessman were the following:
A. The income of 10,000 Euro/month
B. Enjoying life because of the following qualities:
-attracting people,
-interesting,
-positive,
-easy communication/good at making contact
2. Modeling of experts
Two experts, possessing the above qualities have been identified. Later they were interviewed for their value system, believes, metaprograms, body language and their behavioral patterns.
3. Identification of the non-expert
During the interview with the non-expert his value system, believes, metaprograms, body language and behavioral patterns were defined.
4. The results of the interviews:
The differences between value systems, believes, metaprograms, body language and behavioral patterns are described in the table below:

In such a way the main criteria for the successful businessman were identified:
-responsibility;
-flexibility, self-development;
-respect for others;
-enjoying the job, money is only a means;
-the possibility to look at the situation from the second and third positions;
-enjoying life in general.
5. The scheme of the successful businessman has been created (see: encl. N 1).
6. Realization of the model of the successful businessman:
The invited non-expert goes into his position (No 1), the position of a non-expert. The criteria of the successful businessmen are presented to him and he visualizes position No 2, that of the successful businessmen. He watches it for a moment and later enters the position No 2 himself and associates with it. He is asked to feel the inner state of the expert: be open, self confident, determined, chin upwards, eyesight directed into the future, smiling. In order to obtain the desired result, the time line change can be introduced. The non-expert goes into the future and evaluates the second position from the third one. Then returns back and anchors the state.
7. Testing of the model
Step back and check the anchor. The state of a successful businessman with all main resources should be quickly achieved.
8. Possible deviations from the Model
At the very beginning it may appear that for a non-expert it is quite difficult to enter the position of a successful businessman because of the existing his own stereotypes (e.g. associations with businessman using alcohol and loving lots of women) or missing some qualities such as love for what he is doing or self-confidence. In such case it is good to work with such believes separately, using different NLP techniques and later return to the process of modeling.
